A Book by Bonnie & Thomas Liotta
A biblical case for raising children the way God actually intended
What if the peace you've been praying for in your home isn't just possible? What if it's your God-given right? This is the answer to your parenting prayers, for the explosive child, the strong-willed child, the one carrying a diagnosis that was never meant to be their destiny.
The Story Behind the Book
At 21 years old, after reading Think and Grow Rich, God placed a dream in Bonnie Liotta's heart: to find a way to empower every child by the age of 12. It wasn't a small dream. It was a calling. She spent the next 18 years studying human potential at the highest levels, becoming top 10 in the world in two direct sales companies, speaking internationally about the limitless capacity of human beings.
But by the time her oldest son turned 13, all four of her children had been diagnosed with a mental health disorder. Her dream of empowering children was dying inside the walls of her own home. She'd read every parenting book, taken every class, attended every seminar, and followed every method the experts recommended. What grew in her home wasn't the fruit of the Spirit. It was the opposite: chaos, rage, defiance.
"You can't expect the same from me as other kids. My brain is broken."
Then, right on time, a man named Luke introduced her to Thomas Liotta. Within 30 days of changing their approach using the Creating Champions For Life biblical parenting principles, her son Zachary woke up. His diagnosis hadn't changed. His environment had. Someone had finally spoken a different story over him. That moment became a ministry. That ministry became this book.
Parent in Love is the biblical case for raising children the way God actually intended. Not the explosive child managed into compliance. Not the strong-willed child broken into submission. Not the defiant child medicated into silence. The champion God placed inside every intense, misunderstood, beautifully wired child, called forward by a parent who finally learned to speak their language.
"God is not a God of disorder and confusion, but of peace." — 1 Corinthians 14:33
Why This Book Exists
Every year, millions of children die by suicide or drug overdose. The gentle parenting movement promised peace and delivered the highest rates of childhood anxiety, depression, and parent burnout in recorded history. Different name, same broken fruit. Constant correction focuses on the weeds. Parent in Love teaches you to breathe life into your children, body, mind, and soul.
Who This Book Is For
Every child rises when the right environment is created, including the explosive child, the strong-willed child, the one with the diagnosis. They are not broken. They are image-bearers of God, waiting for the right conditions to become who they were always meant to be.
Parents who've been handed correction-only theology and sense it doesn't fully align with the God they know.
Christian parents raising a strong-willed or explosive child who need scripture and practical wisdom, not just discipline charts.
Parents whose child carries a diagnosis, and who are ready to believe it's a symptom of a cause, not a life sentence.
Anyone ready to raise their children from a place of identity and relationship, rooted in who God made each child to be.
What's Inside
Introduction, twelve chapters, and a conclusion, tracing the theology of parenting from the ground up.
A close look at how "spare the rod" doctrine took shape, and what the original Hebrew and Greek (shebet, paideuō, chanak, al pi darko) actually reveal.
Why your child's nature, not their behavior, is the starting point for how you parent them.
A relationship-based framework for discipline and connection that holds boundaries and grace together.
How this biblical foundation connects directly to the practical tools in "Learn to Speak Kid" and the 12 Champion Principles.
"The child did not create the environment. You did. Which means you have always had the power to change it. And now you know how."
